Like everybody, she's in over her head

Two day's of work thus far and all seems to be going well. Often I want to smack the woman training me upside the head. The seller manager or whatever his title is should try to be a little more flamboyant I think. Overall I think this will work out well, and at very least simply work. It's nice to not have to worry about money (even if I haven't been paid yet, at least I know it's coming). I asked yesterday about hair color and apparently they couldn't care less. Super-crazy-red highlight-ish-streaks here I come. =) They have a bookcase in the back room of early release titles that we can take home to keep or whatever. I'm only supposed to take two at a time so I did that today and going to take another on Monday. Most of the books there at the moment and sleazy romance novels (although there is one of those that actually looks kinda good) but there are a couple books that have potential and a few that someone might like but just aren't my cup of tea (assassins, vampires, ect, ect, ect).

We went out to dinner at a hibachi place the other night. The guy across the table ordered lobster. Well when they cool lobster they bring it in this big lid and dump it on the table. This was very sudden and these two big lobsters staring at me really startled me. The chef put the lid over them and a little bit later took off the lid. THEY WERE MOVING! My mom freaked. My dad said since they were cold when they were killed the muscles were contracting and whatever. The guy who ordered them (who was very drunk) turns to a guy with him and says really loudly "GOD! Why would you order such a thing?!". It was pretty funny.

We went to a bunch of open houses today. At this one I was talking to this woman (she asked me what grade I was in) and it came that she is from Florida. He brother in law lives in BFE aka Middleburg which is just crazy! At least I thought it was. =)

It's a little crazy how often I indirectly burn myself with my straightener. I'll straighten a piece
of hair and then pick it up again immediately and it burns my finger. This can't be good for my hair.

For those of you that know Daniel and I very well will know that we haven't always and don't always get along. We did however get along when we were little (and now when we don't live to close to each other). I'm reminded a lot here of this time when we were little. We must have been living in Virginia. There was this huge wooded area behind our house and one day Daniel and I went exploring. We basically walked in a straight line away from the house but still. Every so often he would stop, have me sit on a fallen tree or something, and go ahead to "make sure it is safe". I don't know why I remember this so vividly, and I only seem to remember it happening once, but it is one of those few things from when we were little that we really, really got along and everything.

I just clicked the "save now" button and everything disapeared for a few seconds. I was going to be REALLY pissed if I lost this whole post.

Everyone should go watch this video. It makes me smile all the time and my mom and I quote it constantly.

I guess that's all for tonight.

I've got all my life to live I've got all my love to give.

So I got a job. Which is pretty freaking exciting. I got the call on Monday. They only had two of their three positions open, cafe seller and cashier, but they liked me so much they gave me a book seller position. It pays like 75 cents more than cashier. I'm going to be doing cashier work until they fill that position which could be up to a couple months but I'm getting the higher pay so it works for me. I start tomorrow with an 8 hour shift and a 9 hour shift on Saturday. With any luck I'll get a bunch of hours between now and the end of next month so I'll have lots of monies for trinkets and other crap I don't need while in Japan.

We have been looking for a place to keep Baxter while we are in Japan. Nothing is seeming promising for a whole week and a half. I'm getting more and more worried about leaving him. Too bad we aren't still in Florida. He loved the place there.

I've been working out almost every morning in the gym here at the apartments. I am still ridiculously out of shape but you've got to start somewhere. I wonder how long it will take for me to see results. I've been doing the elliptical or treadmill or bike and all of the weight machines. I'm pretty proud of myself.

I'm really nervous and shake-y and stressed out right now and I don't really know why. It might be the first day of a new job tomorrow. It might be the thought of leaving my dog in a place that he hates. It might be a realization that I'm in a new place, have to make new friends, a new school, and finally make a decision about what I want to do with my life. What ever it is I need to get over it and fast because I really hate this feeling.

Well sorry to be gloomy but I have to leave it at that. I'm off to climb in bed with my dog and a book. Hope you are all doing well.

Goodbye for now my loyal readers =)

CHILDBIRTH!

That would be the one thing Daniel doesn't want to learn about. I figured it out. I should get a star or a cookie or something.

Be aware this is going to be a crazy picture filled entry.

So I've been on four interviews thus far. The two you already heard about and two at Borders. I was told I'd hear back from them by early next week. I'm kind of up in the air about this one. I think I'll end up in the cafe if I work there which would definitely not be my first choice. I'm going to apply at DSW tomorrow since they actually have a help wanted sign and see how that goes.

Speaking of shoes I was just at DSW last night and they were having this huge sale. I ended up buying three pairs of shoes for about 35 dollars. Which for those of you that don't frequent the store is less than you can usually buy one pair. I was very excited.
For some reason the picture of the third pair is missing. I'll add it later.

I ordered some socks off of SockDreams the other day and they arrived on Wensday. I used a coupon and they only cost me 2 dollars. They are absolutely amazing. I can't wait till it gets a little warmer so I can show them off.

On the invoice for the package they hand wrote "thank you!" Which I know probably took all of two seconds but it makes me more likely to buy more stuff from them despite their high prices. It's the little things I know.

I got my nails filled the other day. I had her shorten them and they are so much better. I'm still all girly and can make cool noises with them but now I can actually button things and type and whatnot. It's pretty great let me tell you.
I don't really know what is going on there but it shows my sweet nails and reminds me that I have yet to show pictures of my new haircut!

I don't know if I mentioned this before or not but I have these awesome red jeans that I got on sale at Kohls right after Christmas. They are ridiculously amazing. My mom says I look like an aging rock star in them which I am totally ok with. These aren't the best pictures ever but check them out anyways.
(I kind of look drunk or something there don't I?)

I watched Primal Fear with my mom tonight. It's a pretty great movie. I swear I've seen parts of it a long time ago. I probably wasn't supposed to be in the room or something because I would have been way to young for it. Brandi you should absolutely watch it. You'll love it and it has Edward Norton in it who was/is absolutely amazing. He is crazy young in that movie.

It snowed like a foot or something on Monday. I took a bunch of pictures per Brandi's request. Here are just a few of them. It was so great!
This is my car all covered with snow.
This is me looking like an Eskimo or the abominable snowman or something

Baxter doesn't like it if the snow is too high but his friend is over their off camera playing

THERE HE GOES! Crazy in-action shot

Just to give you an idea of how deep the snow was (that wasn't the deepest place either)

I suppose that is all for tonight. I hope you all enjoyed this picture filled installment.

Until next time this is Whitney B. signing off.

Late night shinanigans...

So I went to that interview at Build-a-Bear. It was an interesting interview. It was a group one and the other two girls where wearing jeans. Long story short if they want me they'll call by the end of the week but I wont take the job because they only hire part time.

Thus far I have applied to nine places and only received two calls. This is very frustrating.

Now onto why I am updating at almost 4 in the morning...

About an hour/hour and a half ago my phone starts ringing and my mom bursts into the room turns on the light and yells! (she says she wasn't yelling and I was just asleep still but it was awfully loud) something about Daniel calling twice already and blah blah blah. So she answers my phone and leaves to talk to him and stuff. Once I got over being so rudely awakened by my frantic mother I listen to my mom's half of the conversation. She gets off the phone and brings it back and tells me what's going on (my brother's car got hit pretty bad. If you want that whole story you'll have to go to his blog). As she's finishing up her story I notice this balled up pile of what I originally thought was my sheet but quickly realize is too far away from the sheet to be a part of it. I pick up the fabric and study it for a minute and slowly say "Hu.......I'm not wearing any pants". My mom about dies laughing and heads back to bed to await another call from Daniel. The longer I stared at my ceiling the more I realized how hysterical it is that I somehow removed my pants while sleeping (I was incredibly hot for a while) and I can't go back to sleep so I get up, talk to my mom, have some cereal, and visit my old friend the internet.

Now it is time for me to attempt to go back to sleep.

Until next time, this is Whitney, signing out.

Compliments, movies, and job interviews...

So I've been organizing my room and it is starting to feel more and more like my room and less like that place where I sleep and keep all my crap. This is a nice feeling.

I went and saw Sweeny Todd with my parents. It was pretty good. Better than I expected definitely. Throughout the movie my mom kept saying stuff like "a real barber wouldn't hold the razor like that", "a real barber wouldn't have that many razors". It was pretty funny.

The other day my mom told me that my eyelashes looked particularly nice. That has got to be the weirdest compliment I have ever received.

A few weeks ago my mom was helping me make my bed. On my bed I have flannel sheets, three blankets, and a comforter. After we got to about the third blanket my mom asked me if I had enough (sarcastically of course). I honestly do not. I still end up cold most nights. =)

I had an interview at Guitar Center on Tuesday, I was pretty excited about the idea of working there. However, it turns out that it pays on commission. I would suck hard core at that. So I turned down the job. When I got home I applied online for a few other places. One of which was Build-a-Bear. Not 2 minutes after I hit submit they called me to schedule an interview for today. I'm pretty excited about that. I should probably go start getting ready for that.

Current Temp: 4 Degrees

So turns out I might still get my new glasses. Just not for a week or two. I'm cool with that.

I meant to mention before that I filled out an application to Guitar Center online last night and got a call from the manager this morning. He left a message and I called back about 20-30 minutes later. I haven't heard back from him yet but I'm going to call again tomorrow to make sure he got my message. I am very excited.

I love you guys! Just saying.

I got my sweet new clock and power squid today. I was pretty happy about that.

I had an eye appointment today. I am now wearing two contacts instead of just one. I thought I would get new glasses too but that didn't happen which really sucks pretty hard because I found a pair I really liked.

It's 9 degrees outside. Cold indeed.

You people should comment on this nice new blog of mine.

Team work...

My mom has been playing a lot of Guitar Hero since I got it (she might even buy an extra controller tomorrow so we can play together). Tonight she got to the battle with Tom Morrello (sp?) which I have yet to beat (I'll admit, I wussed out). However with her playing and me telling her when to attack she beat him! It was very exciting with lots of hi-fives and my dad calling us crazy.

My bed is almost a burrito again after sitting in it all afternoon.

I'm going to go read my new book now. I finished Love is a Mixed Tape today. I'll admit, it made me cry a little. The cover of my new book scares the crap out of me when I'm sitting here in the dark with just my LightWedge.

I'm an updating fool with this new blog I have.

[EDIT] It's 10 degrees outside.

Blue Men, Guitar Heros, and Burito Beds

Welcome all to my new and improved blog! What do you think? I kind of like it although there is still some tweaking to be done. If someone (choughAudreychough) wanted to make me a thing with a dude eating a hat (possibly a purple one) and the big ol' NO thing around it and help me post it one here somewhere cool I would love you forever and ever.

It has been a crazy last few weeks. Beginning with my birthday on which I flew out to Boston and received an iPod Touch. We are currently living in an apartment here but hopefully that will change soon. I have been trying to find a comfortable way to live in such a cramped space and a job. I think I have been successful in the former but more on that later (I'm trying to go chronologically here for the save of my sanity). There is snow all over the place here and it snows pretty frequently (apparently it will do so more next month or so) and I could not be happier about it.

Daniel and Audrey came up for Christmas. That was super fun. We all went to see the Blue Man Group on Christmas Eve which was so ridiculously awesome. I got a picture with one of the guys, I'll post it as soon as Daniel sends it to me.

Christmas was great, I got all kinds-a cool stuff including Guitar Hero and Super Mario Galaxy for my Wii. I also got a Fossil purse and wallet (which I need to talk to Audrey about), some money for my trip to Japan, and little things like books and such as well. My aunt and uncle gave me a gift card to ThinkGeek and I ordered this cool clock. I can't wait for it to get her. Overall it was great.

The day after Christmas my mom and I went shopping and I spent WAY more money than I should have but I got some great clothes for super cheap. We also got our nails done (I can't remember what day exactly but it was soon after Christmas). I got acrylic nails which look really, really nice but I can't do ANYTHING with them. As soon as they need to be filled I am taking them off. I fail as a girl and can't handle long nails hahaha.

New years was spent playing Wii Sports with my parents and watching a really horrible movie (I ended up playing on my computer and working on finishing a blanket I'm making most of the time). We bought champagne since I'd never had it before and my mom likes it. It's pretty gross. I have that block checked and never feel the need to revisit it.

Today my mom and I worked on cleaning the apartment and making my room more live-able. We moved and chair and my bed. Tis created what my mom called a "burrito bed" since the sides were all smushed up because of the tables on either side of it. It was super comfy like that but once we fluffed it up it wasn't a burrito bed any more. Although I'm sure it will be after a few nights of sleeping on it. Here's a picture of my non-burrito burrito bed:

I got a box today from Jeremy with presents from Aivian (Vivian's boyfriend). There was some really awesome stuff in there including a stamp with my name in Chinese and English. I'll post pictures and stuff of it all later.

I have an eye doctor's appointment tomorrow. I will probably get new glasses which is exciting. We are going at Costco and they have some really cool glasses.

I guess that's all I have to say for now. Hopefully I will be updating this on a regular basis. If I don't you guys should harass me about it.
